Gallery Info

This e-Gallery is intended to allow creative expression without judgement. Read why below!

The artists have all participated in the Arts for Recovery, Resilience, Teamwork and Skills
(ARRTS) Program for wounded, injured and ill Australian Defence Force personnel

All participants are listed in the category of the creative stream they undertook while on the program. For this Gallery
many have submitted works from one or more other artistic endeavours they’ve engaged with on or following the program.

In its very roots of non-judgement, the program’s creative outputs aren’t measured for artistic merit or assessed against any criteria.
While that may seemingly position this Gallery as a paradox to program intentions, it is the stories entwined with those creations this
Gallery seeks to portray. They are the real stories of challenge, reflection, triumph and beauty that shape the soul of humanity.

The quotes appearing on the home page of this Gallery include responses to research project questions posed in
2019 on participation in creative engagement via the Arts for Recovery, Resilience, Teamwork and Skills Program,
and/or during the varying lengths of periods each participant has experienced since completing the six programs held
through 2015, 2016 and 2017. Future research is intended to capture the responses of attendees on subsequent programs.

This Gallery includes artistic submissions from ~20% of participants from all programs, including some who chose not to
participate in the research project surveys and interviews, and those (from 2018 and 2019) who were not in the research focus cohorts.
