Shawn has been a Firefighter and Officer with ACT Fire and Rescue for 30 years, attending over 10,000 emergency incidents. In 2018 he was encouraged to participate in the ARRTS program, which was opening for the first time to Emergency Service Personnel. Shawn discovered his passion for visual art, and the far-reaching benefits a creative outlet has had in enriching many aspects his life. Shawn is now a strong advocate for seeking and maintaining creative endeavours as a pillar of an individual’s personal wellbeing, particularly for those working in highly stressful work environments.
