‘Under the Microscope’
Photocopy, watercolour and photocopy
112 x 72 cm

Artist’s Context – Mixed Methods: Under the Microscope
This extract series was created with a photocopier. The original sketch has been zoomed
and segmented to expose the graininess. Some have then been painted in watercolour,
with those works then copied by a colour inkjet photocopier to provide
a consistency of presented texture.

‘Nirvana’
Watercolour airbrushed on canvas
60 x 40 cm

Artist’s Context – Painting: Nirvana
I used to draw a lot as a child but after I turned about 17, life got in the way and I stopped.
I thought I had lost the knack until my ARRTS Program mentor encouraged me to try again.
It takes me to a happy place where I can lose myself.
The program was also where I tried using an airbrush for the first time.
This painting is a work in progress, with detail yet to be added.
